Moodle Integration

With an explosion in the amount in e-learning taking place in our schools and work places we at Peripatus are uniquely placed to leverage our years of experience in e-training content creation and delivery.

The process begins with our bespoke content generating application: Accelerator. Using it's built in WYSIWYG editor our clients are able to output material in a recognised international standard format.

Courses generated by Accelerator are most effectively delivered to the user using a LMS. We choose to use Moodle, for several reasons:

• Cost - Most importantly the Moodle framework is open source, this means that installation of this system is free – there are no license fees or subscription costs. This enables us to devote more development time to content creation, specialisation and integration.
• Community - As an open source project, Moodle is backed by a large community of vibrant and enthusiastic developers and users. This also means there is a wealth of support for the product online – which is also free!
• Technology - As with many other open source projects, many hands make light work, meaning the technology behind the system is always being developed, extended and enhanced. The result is the system is always at the cutting edge of web development technologies and implementing industry standard security measures.
• Future-proof - All of the above mean Moodle is here to stay, and given it's meteoric rise in popularity is well placed to become the defacto standard in e-learning before long. By then end of 2006 there were 19,000 registered Moodle sites (many more unregistered) serving 7.7m learners in 160 countries [1].

Working with Moodle on many projects over the last couple of years, we have built up an extensive knowledge-base on implementation and integration. At this stage there are several options we offer:

Option 1 Vanilla Moodle installation - Install and configure a new instance of Moodle to operate in a way most suited to your current business model.

Option 2 Subscription based model - Install moodle as above and configure it to handle commercial e-learning, where payment is taken for access to the learning material via our Peripatus payment gateway or other third party system (PayPal).
