The Training Foundation approached us to create a 'spin-off' LMS called flow originating from a content managed site we had recently built for them: TAP (Trainer Assessment Programme).
The Solution
For the LMS framework we chose Moodle, for it's features and flexibility as well as for our expertise with working with the system.
The new site's aims were to extend the content of the TAP site, and to immerse the user in a richer interaction-driven learning environment. We also aimed to foster a community atmosphere around the learning materials.
The content of the site is a mixture of freely available content and members-only areas. It also combines traditional e-learning materials (generated using Peripatus's Accelerator system) and student polls / questionnaires with modern technologies for online teaching, such as wiki's, podcasts and RSS feeds.
For this project we made use of Moodle's built-in administration system, granting some of the stake-holders with limited administrator privileges. This allows them to monitor, maintain and create new content for the site.
The Results
Les Hobbs Director of Training Foundation commented:

“I have worked with the Peripatus team on a major web application and website development projects over the last four years. The team are very conscientious with a 'can do' attitude, delivering results to promised deadlines.”
